Orthodontic Treatment for Adults
Kansas Dental Center offers orthodontic treatment for adults via Invisalign. Invisalign utilizes a series of clear, removable aligners custom made for your teeth. These aligners are changed every two weeks gradually moving your teeth into position. Please schedule a consultation to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign treatment.
Tips for Invisalign Use and Care
- You need to wear your aligners! Recommended wear time is 20-22 hours/day, a good rule of thumb is to only remove your aligners during mealtime.
- Always change your aligners per your doctor’s instructions, typically every two weeks but can vary per your specific treatment plan.
- Designate your BLUE case as your current aligner but store your previous aligner in your RED case. The previous aligner may be used if the current aligner is lost or damaged, or a longer treatment time is recommended.
Removable Retainers
Over time, retainers wear and can break. Kansas Dental Center can fabricate new orthodontic retainers if you have broken or worn out your current set.
Bonded Retainers
Some patients have fixed retainers (typically a wire bonded behind your lower front teeth). Over time this type of retainer can de-bond and become mobile. Patients have the option of repairing the bonded retainer OR can have the bonded retainer removed completely and replaced with a removable appliance. Please note that if a bonded retainer is removed, a removable retainer must be fabricated and worn nightly to avoid orthodontic relapse (shifting of teeth).
